John VII Palaeologus, regent, 1399-1402. Follaro (Bronze, 17 mm, 0.78 g, 12 h), Constantinopolis. Draped bust of John VII facing, wearing crown with pendilia; to right somewhat blundered legend. Rev. Large cross with stars in angles. DOC 1394. SB 2567 (attributed to John VIII). Very rare. Struck from worn dies and with a flan crack, otherwise, good fine.
